RBA Rising Stars

10 February – 12 March 2017.

The Royal Over-Seas League hosted RBA Rising Stars, an exhibition developed by two respected and prestigious organisations, the National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) and the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA). The exhibition presented work by the NADFAS RBA Scholars as well as a selection from the The National Students’ Art Exhibition and the RBA’s Rome Scholarship semi-finalists.

The NADFAS RBA Scholars were twenty-two aspiring young artists who were initially discovered and proposed by NADFAS and selected by the RBA from 284 entries submitted for consideration. The finalists presented at ROSL were selected for their exceptional works which combine the highest levels of skill, expression and draughtsmanship. The art presented uses a variety of medium exploring equally varied subjects and ultimately offering a glimpse into the future of fine art.

Following ROSL, the works went on display at the Mall Galleries, London from 22 March – 1 April 2017 where they will sat alongside those of professional artists at the RBA’s Annual Exhibition, which features the best contemporary representational painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. During the exhibition at the Mall Galleries, one student originally shown at ROSL was presented with the John Ingram Award.
