Tim Hugh cello, is one of the most dynamic cellists of his generation, won two medals including the Bach Prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition and has performed with many of Europe’s leading orchestras under conductors such as Boulez, Haitink, Rostropovich, and Solti. Since 1995 he has been Principal Cellist of the London Symphony Orchestra, with whom he has frequently appeared as soloist. His acclaimed recordings range from Bach’s Suites and Beethoven’s Sonatas to concertos by Britten, Finzi and Walton.
