ROSL Masterclasses – supporting the next generation

Share

Supporting & nurturing
young talent

In 2024 ROSL commenced a series of new masterclass days for talented young musicians, in partnership with Future Talent. Starting with our initial cohort of woodwind, violin and keyboard led by ROSL Alumni Huw Wiggin, Emily Sun and Ashley Fripp respectively. In 2025 we continued our Masterclass programme with sessions on brass and strings led by ROSL Alumni Josh Cirtina and Benjamin Baker.

Each day concentrates on a different discipline and are led by experienced ROSL alumni. Our young participants enjoy a recital given by a ROSL musician, followed by a masterclass on stage in the ROSL Princess Alexandra Hall. The day concludes with a roundtable discussion led by the ROSL Arts team to discuss all aspects of studying music, the options for those considering a career in the industry and how to go about applying to study music and how to make the most of study opportunities.

We are grateful to the following who have supported these days:

The Samuel Gardner Memorial Trust
The Radcliffe Trust
Future Talent
Ian and Susan Pettman (ROSL Members)

We hope to expand our activity in this area and run these days in 2025 and beyond – to help us in supporting the next generation of musical talent please do consider donating here or by becoming an Arts Patron
