About This Event

Part of Summer Place Festival

Fresh from his sold-out 2023 EFG London Jazz Festival show, the singer and pianist tours the swinging standards and timeless ballads of legendary songwriters, including Cole
Porter, Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, and many more. Expect new treatments of songs originally made famous by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Oscar
Peterson, drawing on music from the classic Broadway stage, Hollywood screen, and golden age of American popular song. Such timeless standards as “Night and Day”,
“Cheek to Cheek”, and “The Way You Look Tonight” feature alongside the piano fireworks of “Rhapsody in Blue”, one-hundred years after its 1924 premiere in New York.
Jewison’s vocal prowess and pianistic virtuosity has seen him tour internationally.

He headlined the 2020 ReGeneration Festival in Florence, the BBC Radio 3 Christmas Special in 2021, and played the award-winning Nevill Holt Opera House in 2022. Jewison has
performed at iconic London venues, including Camden’s famous Jazz Café, Westminster Abbey, and the Royal Opera House, where he made his sold-out recital debut with “The Composer in Hollywood” in 2022. He returned to the ROH in 2024 with “The Composer on Broadway”.
