The Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) is delighted to announce the finalists of the 74th Annual Music Competition Gold Medal, one of the UK’s most prestigious classical music competitions, with an all-female quartet set to compete in this year’s final. This  platform continues to champion emerging classical musicians and rising stars of the international classical music scene.

The finalists to watch in 2026

Flautist Sofía Patterson-Gutiérrez secured her place in the final with a dazzling performance in the competition’s opening week. Currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music, she has already appeared as guest principal with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Aurora Orchestra, marking her out as a notable young classical artist to watch.

She is joined by soprano Binny-Supin Yang, winner of the Singers Final, whose compelling performance marked her as a standout finalist. Binny-Supin is due to make her U.S. debut this year and will also perform in Peter Grimes for Opera North, further establishing her presence within the opera and classical music world.

Pianist Gabrielė Sutkutė impressed in a closely contested Keyboard Final with her performance of Szymanowski’s Variations in B-flat minor. In recognition of her musical achievements, she has received the Lithuanian Republic President’s Certificate of Appreciation six times, reflecting her growing reputation among young classical pianists.

Violinist Fanny Fheodoroff completes the line-up, having won the String Final. A graduate of The Juilliard School, she has a particular interest in works by historically underrepresented composers, reflected in her 2021 album featuring works by eight female composers, contributing to a broader dialogue within classical repertoire programming.

With an exceptional level of musicianship across all finalists, the Gold Medal Final promises an evening of outstanding performances at one of London’s leading classical music venues.

The final will take place on Friday 15 May at Wigmore Hall, bringing together these four emerging musicians at a pivotal stage in their careers while highlighting the next generation of classical music talent.
