Club Rules

We like to make everyone’s visit to the clubhouse as enjoyable as possible, so we have a few simple rules we require all members, guests and visitors to follow.

Dress Code

Members and their guests are requested to wear smart casual clothing while enjoying the Club’s facilities.

National/Traditional dress equivalents are always welcome.

Jackets are encouraged to be worn by gentlemen in the 1910 Dining Room in the evening.

The following items of clothing are not permitted in public areas of the Club at any time: torn, dirty, bleached or distressed clothes or footwear; vests, t-shirts or any collarless shirt unless covered by a suitable over garment, flip-flops or crocs, shorts, sportswear or sports trainers or any clothing likely to cause offence.

Members and guests wishing to take exercise outside may pass through the public space of the Club in sportswear. Sportswear is not permitted in any of the public rooms at any time. Coats, outdoor garments, and large bags are to be left in the cloakroom.

Staying at the Club

Overnight clubhouse accommodation in London is for the use of members (a non-member can share the room with you).

Children under the age of 17 are welcome to stay at the Club when accompanied by an adult member.

Use of mobile devices, laptops & tablets

These should be placed on ‘silent’ or ‘vibration’ mode when entering the clubhouse. Users are requested to ensure that keyboard ‘clicks’ are switched off.

Please be sensitive to other members and guests when talking on mobile phones in public spaces and the garden.

Members and guests are asked not to receive or make calls in the Drawing Room, Mountbatten Room, Duke of York Bar, or dining facilities of the clubhouse.
Zoom calls are only permissible in the Central Lounge and must be conducted with earphones/headsets.
